The term carbon steel is only applicable to material where manganese, silicon, copper, carbon and iron are only composition elements. There are restrictions for the amount of the elements that could be in carbon steel. Sometimes called the plain carbon steel, the Carbon Steel grades are derived by difference in the content in the material composition. These could be used for various different applications such as ship building, wire, vehicle bodies, fencing, gates and railings. There are Carbon Steel application types per types of carbon. The medium carbon steel is good for gears, rails, shafts, axles, pipelines, fridges, cars couplings and also be used in building bridges.
